After much thought into this all week, I have decided to finally put all my poetry into a collections for an ebook. This collection is being thoughtfully processed at the moment and I am so eager to finally be determined to put my first collection into an actual book where all can purchase and enjoy.

There’s so many lovers of poetry out there that I needed to share my words.

I tend to keep most of my poetry to myself but I think it is time to get out of my shell and spread my words to the world to read.

I know I am putting myself out there to be judged as a writer but I am not scared any more.

I am determined to make this happen as soon as I can.

So for those of you that are eager to see what I have created please use this form to be notified of the release of the ebook.

Thank you all for the support on my blog and my youtube channel.

Book review: the strain book 1

If you haven’t heard of the strain, well now you have. If you like vampire stories then this one is one you need to read. I was never one to be into these kind of books but after watching the first season of the strain on FX (the series is based off the book), I had to read the book because the book is always more interesting and more detailed.

The main character is dr. Ephraim goodweather and basically has a major role and  you will read a lot of his personal life in the midst of the craziness of the vampires.  He’s smart and yet you can tell he’s caring. I really enjoyed his character the most.

I also enjoyed the elderly man, whom is a teacher of sorts to the crew they end up creating. Setrakian is gutsy and basically wants them all to get them to do what needs to be done. I don’t want to go too much in details without ruining the story line and plot.

Out of five stars I give it 4.5. Reason being that it had a few dull moments but it’s expected in every book and then it picks up and takes you for a whirl wind ride that I was excited about and couldn’t put the book down. I’m glad that it has several parts because the way it ended left me yearning for more.

Do I recommend this book? My answer is clear, yes! Like I had said before, I was never into vampire books or horror type books but this one was great to get me into them. Lets be serious, any book based in New York City always catches my attention being that I am from NYC. I have no regrets in starting this series and hope I still feel the same after the second and the third. Hopefully, I won’t be disappointed when I read the rest of the trilogy but this book didn’t disappoint me at all so I am determined to start the second part as soon as possible.

That’s all for my review, let me know if you end up reading it and if you agree with my keen interest with these two characters. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

God bless, Vanessa.

Book Review: Down the Rabbit Hole

The book I just completed was written by holly Madison. If you’re not familiar with the name, she was Hugh Heffner’s former ex and was on a reality tv show that I actually enjoyed and watched, called girls next door.

Okay, back to the tell all book, let me tell you by saying I was beyond shocked at all the things revealed in her book. Not only did she blow a huge lid on the truth (if it is) but I honestly believe her version! It’s crazy how in just a book, a person can reveal so much. It touched me how honest she was about her depression and body image issues due to being in the situation that she was.

This book was such a page turner for me. If you’ve followed the girls from girls next door and know about their show Etc. then you will need to read this book because it was so worth reading. I finished it in just two days of late night readings (it’s the only time I can actually read).

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars simply because she didn’t reveal if she continued to have intercourse with her ex, after the initial first time so that left me to speculate that they occasionally did. I did find it very intriguing and enjoyed the details about her life from how she got to end up living at the playboy mansion, to her happily ever after. Should you read the book? Yes. Should it be on your top to read books? Eh, depends on what you like. I honestly read it to catch a break off the other series I was reading (part 3 of the crossfire series). Hope this book review helped. Take care and God bless!

Xo, Vanessa

Book Review: bared to you by Sylvia day

This book was highly recommended to me by two friends. Now if you’re into graphic sexual types of books and enjoyed the fifty shades of grey trilogy then do yourself the biggest favor and indulge yourself with this book because it is so amazing!

Even though it had some points that left me gasping and wondering but why is she acting like that? I knew that how she was, was relatable in many ways than one for myself.

Her relationship with Gideon is like a never ending, uncontrollable fire! Their intensity is amazing and I just couldn’t put this book down and stood up for 3 nights reading it, which is something I didn’t do with fifty shades (sorry, but Gideon is so much better than Christian).

You get to see how their story begins and how they are literally two wounded souls destined for each other. I liked that part a lot. That even the “rich” were not perfect. I also Loved how the author really showed their flaws as real humans and didn’t shy away from being descriptive.

I have begun to read the second part of this book series. I really can’t wait to tell you how I feel about it! I literally will read the whole series hopefully by the end of this summer, if not sooner.

Run! Purchase this book on Amazon kindle or in your nearest book store. I give this book 5 stars!

Book Review: Odd Thomas

I gave this book 3 stars simply because it was weird from beginning to end. I guess since this is the first book I have encountered like this about spiritual and about demons and such, it really took me by surprise.

It was interesting to say the least. It was dragging in certain parts, and very odd in others. The ending took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting it to have ended the way it did.

If you’re into supernatural type thrillers then you will surely like this book. It wasn’t so much as a thriller per say but it was more of super natural of sorts book. I can’t quiet put it into words how weird it all was!

If it wasn’t for how it ended, I would have given it 1 star! I guess you can be the judge of it if you decide to read this book. Will I read the second part of it? Yes and no. If I don’t have anything to read then yes, will it be on my top books to read, NO.

Hope you enjoyed this review.

Book review: Grey by E L James

I have been waiting for this book since I heard of its launch date a few months ago. The anticipation was so worth the wait. I received it and started it the same day it was launched. I was so thrilled, hopeful and even more ecstatic then when I read the trilogy set of the fifty shades of grey books.

I loved his version way more than anastasia’s version. I guess because I am a hard core James Patterson fan and always read from a males perspective that I found grey’s version to be more suitable and more my style. It really was everything I had hoped and expected, and then some!

I so don’t want to ruin it for anyone but this book is definitely better then Ana’s version of their story. He is way more descriptive of their love making and time together and it really was amazing seeing their story from his perspective. And you also get to see the dark side of him, the side he warned Ana about, his fifty shades of “fucked up” pardon my French.

I do recommend this book and give it five stars. But please bare in mind that it has a darker side then the other 3 previous books because it is his version. Also, be sure to read it at night before bed because well you’ll need your partner after certain scenes, if you catch my drift! If not, then a nice cool shower… It’s a page turner so get ready for a great read.

Hope you all enjoy my book reviews because I really enjoy showing my passion for books and slight thoughts and what I hoped and didn’t like without ruining books because I do hate reading book reviews that spoil the book for you. To me, it ruins the whole concept of a review and leaving to you want to read it and explore the words of the authors.

Book Review: silenceĀ

Silence by Natasha Preston is a good read. It’s based in England and even though you kinda felt that would be the kind of story it was, you just have to continue reading it. I sometimes felt like it was a lifetime movie kind of book of i had to explain the “feel” of it.

I liked it and enjoyed it even tho it’s more of a teenager book but then again what age set is any book really? So yeah, even though it’s about a teenaged girl named Oakley who doesn’t speak, her story tugged at my heart so much. The things she had to endure from such a young age really hit home for me…

If you would like to read the book it is free on iBooks! Yup, free!! So if you have some time on your hands be sure to download this book and tell me what you think of it as well.

I give it a four out of five simply because of how It kind of ended and left you wondering so much & I did shed a few tears at the end. I guess I’ll have to purchase part 2 broken silence to see how Oakley’s story ends and if she will get a happy ending…
